In serious need of a break from reality, Marissa and I made a plan to take a couple hours off and head to the plant store for some nature therapy and oxygen.
I arrived in Denver, Colorado a couple days ago and there seems to be a little less oxygen in the air than my body is accustomed to. Going from below sea level to 5,000 feet above sea level will do that to ya. They don't call it the Mile High City for nothin'!
Our first stop was to Front Range Gardens in Broomfield. Second stop was to Little Eden in Arvada.
Both shops were unique and quaint with character of their own and the perfect amount of humidity to make me feel right at home. We meandered through dozens of tall plants, short plants, wide plants, prickly plants, and made sure not to leave either store without adding to Marissa's plant collection.
Quick highlights from today's adventure include:
- Greenhouses
- Roosters
- Dogs
- Rare expensive plants
- Perfectly affordable houseplants
- Huge Macaw birds
- Kind people
Our hurting hearts were able to find a few moments of peace through plant therapy today and that makes for a great day.
For me, adding a creative 'junk journal' style layout to my Pen Pal Adventure Book is just as therapeutic as the plant store visit. Which gave me a double dose of therapy today! I'll take it!
