Introducing the Mystery Destination Zine Series: Adventure Begins with a Story

What if, instead of searching online, scrolling through reviews, or looking at a map, you discovered a place one clue at a time?

That's the idea behind my new Mystery Destination Zine Series.

Each issue invites you to explore a real destination through storytelling, history, nature, local legends, hidden discoveries, and interactive challenges. As the clues unfold, you'll gather pieces of the puzzle and slowly uncover the mystery location.

The goal isn't to race to the answer.  The goal is to enjoy the mystery, the story and the journey.

Why I Created This Series

We live in a world where information is instant.

If we're curious about a place, we can learn everything about it in seconds.

But sometimes I think we've lost something important.

We've lost the joy of wondering.

We've lost the excitement of discovery.

We've lost the feeling of slowly piecing together a story.

The Mystery Destination Zine Series is my invitation to slow down.

To put away your phone.

To resist the urge to search for answers.

To experience a destination through curiosity instead of algorithms.

Each zine is designed to be an analog adventure—a small journey you can hold in your hands.

Introducing Issue No. 001:

The Wizard and the Waterfall

The first issue in the series takes readers on a journey filled with waterfalls, hidden history, nature discoveries, rare wildlife, and one of the most beloved storytellers in American history.

Inside you'll discover:

  • A mystery destination revealed through clues

  • Fascinating local history

  • Interactive detective challenges

  • Nature facts and hidden wonders

  • Beautiful vintage-inspired artwork

  • Personal stories and reflections

  • A surprise destination reveal

Can you solve the mystery before the final page?

More Than a Travel Guide

This isn't a bucket list.  This isn't a guidebook.  This isn't a list of "Top 10 Things To Do."

These zines are about stories.  They're about discovering the people, places, history, traditions, and hidden details that make a destination unique.

Some destinations may be famous.  Others may be small towns you've never heard of.

My hope is that every issue helps readers see the world with fresh eyes and reminds us that extraordinary stories can be found in ordinary places.

Perfect For

  • Travelers

  • Journal lovers

  • Nature enthusiasts

  • Pen pals

One Adventure. Once a Month.

The Mystery Destination Zine Series is part of the larger mission behind Pen Pal Adventure Book.

I believe adventure doesn't have to be expensive, far away, or complicated.

Sometimes adventure is a trail you've never walked.

A town you've never explored.

A story you've never heard.

Or a mystery waiting to be solved.

My goal is simple:  To inspire people to step outside, stay curious, and make time for one adventure every month.

Because life is made of moments.

And some of the best stories are hiding closer than we think.

Ready to solve your first mystery?

Pick up your copy of The Wizard and the Waterfall and see if you can uncover the destination before the final reveal.
