Las Vegas Day 4: One Last Wander Down the Strip for our Final Day

Las Vegas Day 4: One Last Wander Down the Strip for our Final Day

And just like that, we made it to Day 4—our final day in Las Vegas.

We started the morning with a fantastic breakfast at Rosa Mexicano, (at Miracle Mile Mall) where we snagged an outdoor table right on the Strip. It was around 8:30 a.m., which was early enough not to melt yet.

Great food, morning coffee, and people-watching on the Strip? An excellent way to start our last day. *Highly recommend this place for breakfast! 9/10

After breakfast, we headed back to Hilton Elara for some pool time and a little work time before deciding where to wander for the rest of the day.

Let's See What's Behind This Door

On our final Vegas wander, those doors we opened led us into Bellagio, Caesars Palace, and Paris Las Vegas.

At Paris Las Vegas, we had coffee and macarons at Brioche by Guy Savoy, the pastry shop by renowned French chef Guy Savoy.

At Bellagio, we walked through the Conservatory & Botanical Gardens. The displays here change throughout the year and are created using thousands of flowers, plants, trees, and other natural materials. It's a beautiful nature break from the concrete jungle outside and FREE!

Then we wandered through Caesars Palace, where everything seems intentionally designed to make a normal-sized human feel very, very small.

Huge fountains.

Huge statues.

Huge columns.

Huge everything.

Vegas really doesn't do subtle.

108 Degrees...Again

Outside, Las Vegas was serving us another 108-degree day.

At this point, after four days of walking the Strip in August, we were officially cooked.

Not metaphorically.

Possibly actually cooked.

Thankfully, we had nowhere else we needed to be. We slowed down, enjoyed our last few hours in Vegas, and eventually called it.

Because tomorrow, we travel again.

And after the number of miles we've put on our feet over the last four days, some forced sitting sounds pretty fantastic right now.

Thankfully, our next stop is in the same time zone, so maybe our bodies will finally stop waking us up at ridiculous hours.

Maybe.

The Final Vegas Step Count

Since walking became an unexpected theme of this trip, I had to see what the final damage was:

Day 1: 10,663 steps
Day 2: 18,425 steps
Day 3: 11,065 steps
Day 4: 11,053 steps

Grand Total: 51,206 steps

More than 51,000 steps in four days.

In 108-degree heat.

I feel like this explains why we're ready to sit down now. 😂

Goodbye, Las Vegas

Four days here was enough time to see a lot without feeling like we had to see everything.

We ate good food. We spent time at the pool. We people-watched. We saw The Wizard of Oz at Sphere. We wandered through some of the most over-the-top hotels I've ever seen. We walked—a LOT. And, most importantly, we gave ourselves permission to have stretches of the trip where we did absolutely nothing productive.

I think that might be my favorite part.

Las Vegas can be loud, crowded, extravagant, ridiculously hot, and completely over the top.

But your trip doesn't have to be.

Sometimes you can just open a door and see what's on the other side.

Next stop: somewhere considerably cooler.
